Fifth round of the Olympiad staged a hard faught battle between India and Russia. On the one side there was undefeated India; on the other side Russia, who gave only a draw to Azerbaijan… It was the long-awaited match of the tournament and goes without saying most followed battle during the fifth round. India registered only two draws at 1st and 4th table, but thanks to perfect performance coming from Russian players FM Daniil Dubov (2416) and Vladimir Belous (2426), the glory was with Russia.

Turkey Turkuaz who has settled in upper seeds during this tournament, again made Turks proud against formidable opponent Georgia. FM Burak Fırat and talented player Engin Topak managed to win against succesfull players Zurab Javakhadze (2365) and Nodar Lortkipanidze (2220). Even though Turkey Turkuaz lost two points at 2nd and 3rd board, still they vigorously applauded by all Turkish players and trainers.

Lets say something about the other results briefly. Azerbaijan, Hungary, South Africa-B, Sri Lanka and Turkmenistan has got 2,5 points from their opponents England, Armenia, Turkey-Girls Red, Turkey-Girls White and Turkey-Akhisar respectively. Devastating 4 match winnings of fifth round came from Uzbekistan and Libya-A against Turkey-White and Libya-B.
